Welcome to our website. Here you can explore the research that we undertake and learn about the environment, grouping and people involved.
The Molecular Basis of Allergenicity
The Allergy Research Group has just published a review in Trends in Immunology on why allergens are allergens and how a range of molecular features ultimately drive immune responses towards a Th2 response.
All members of Immunology Academic staff were returned within unit of assessment 5 (UoA5) for the RAE return- Other Laboratory based Clinical Subjects. The link to the University of Nottinghams RAE results is here
Novel markers of inflammation in TRAPS
Our latest paper, published January 2009 in Arthritis & Rheumatism, explores the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathophysiology of TRAPS and details our work extending the global cellular consequences of mutant protein expression for different mutations in TNFR1.
The COPD group has recently published a review article of important killer cells in the pathophysiology of COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
Mutant TNF receptor shows altered characteristics
New publication in A&R shows Mutant TNF receptor, Associated With the autoinflammatory disease TRAPS, Is Altered Antigenically ...
Congratulations to Amir Ghaemmaghami and colleagues for their recent BBSRC funded grant entitled " Construction of an in vitro lymphoid organoid: studying innate-adaptive immune cell interaction in a 3D culture system".
